Reminds me a lot of Arthur at Europa Park

This is very cute, but somehow less convincing than the other parts. I think the textures need work - for instance, don't make the trees the same texture as the roof.
I'm not keen on the starry sky texture on the walls and roof, too. This look like a chessy 90's game, lol. I'd rather see a sun set behind the mountains (color fade, orange and/or purple), and only a few points of light for stars on the upper wall and celling.

In any case, once again it look like really well thought-out, it just lack a bit on details and depth in the models to be 100% awesome.
^ What do you mean when you say the trees have the same texture as the roof?
    • CommentTimeNov 10th 2015
Zooming in that's not exactly the same texture, but I still think it's too close. It would be beneficial to have more contrast between the two.

Looks like I'll be able to spend a whole (real) day in your park without getting bored. Great job, keep it up!

    Does it actually work?
^It would be cool if it did!
I love those things in real life. :)
Yes, it does. I've not figured out how to attach a camera to the gondola yet, but it works.
    • CommentTimeNov 13th 2015
Nice work! Does it have a soundtrack to go along? That's mandatory for a madhouse. ;)
I am planning on it having one, yes. I think music is a hugely important tool when it comes to attractions and 'setting a scene', but I've not found a piece of music that suits the ride enough yet.
This park is fantastic! I'm looking forward to the next release. How did you come up with the park design? Did you draw it out ahead of time, or are you sort of improvising, adding each section as you feel fit?
Fantastic news! Would this mean the elevator leading to the mad house also works?
    ^ Yes it does.

^^ I came up with the initial park design in 2008, after visiting Islands of Adventure. You can see a number of influences in and around the Porthporto area around Aeris. Other influences include DisneySea, Phantasialand and Europa Park. I drew initial sketches of the park layout then, but over the years it has been chopped and changed about as it evolved.

Each area starts out with an initial idea/concept (for example, Aeris started out with a lift hill and the lighthouse) and gets built on from there. So there is room for improvisation as I go along, but the main ideas behind each of the zones has already been mapped out.

So I was just looking through at the pictures of The Remnant and I saw this and couldn't help but wonder what it was
^Crazycoaster you got some explaining to do...
    ^^ Putting bets it's a flying coaster.

It looks like a B&M Flyer
Whaaaat, no it's clearly like a cloud or something. A trick of the eye. Maybe even a mirage.

I definitely didn't forget to hide a WIP for phase 3 or anything.
you are starting phase 3 already? how much is left to be done on phase 2!?
    • CommentTimeNov 22nd 2015
Don't pay any attention, it's clearly just a weather balloon.
^ With a boy stuck in it
Time for a little update from Terra. Phase 2 is getting closer and closer to becoming complete, which makes me happy. There are a number of bits and pieces that need finishing off all over the shop, but I don't think it should be all that long before I can send it out into the world.

Mystic Hollow now has a Ferry Steamer stop, and Carousel.

The E-Ticket coasters have been fitted with scrolling queue time signs.

I've been doing some additional work to the Wild Canyon, new theming elements including this large rock arch that frames the entrance to the area when travelling from Porthporto.

    And from the other side:

Some work has been going on with the building facades in the Badlands.

    New grass:

    Remnant's entrance area:

The Chute Boat is now called Ki'amee: Legend of the River Temple

The new Screamin' Swing (now called Gravitate) in the background of Elysium:

    Remnant again:

    Terra's new skyline:

    And finally, the entire park:

This park is amazing, so much details and great ideas.
You are doing a fantastic job, can't wait to visit It!
Ki'amee: Legend of the River Temple seems an outstanding water ride.
Every time I think, "This is amazing; there's no way this park can possibly get any better", I'm proven completely wrong. And I love it!
I have no words for this. Every time I see an update I am surprised by how much work you have done in such a small amount of time, I am completely astonished by all the progress! Keep up the awesome work!

Great job so far, I really like how remnant is coming out above everything else, it just looks soo perfect imo. I'm a diehard for catastrophic/horror coasters, so remnant is definitely up my alley!

In other words, I feel there should a rock beam coming down the middle of the arch you made, I'm not sure how well that would be able to hold itself without one. But it still looks good. :)

    Awesome as always.

Since the park is getting even bigger, I think some signage to guide you around would be helpful. I had to go into fly view a few times because I got confused on where to go in Phase 1.

    Hows the FPS looking?
    • CommentTimeDec 21st 2015 edited
I've put a huge amount of effort into making sure each piece of scenery gets properly clipped the further away you are, and I've used a couple of occluders in interior areas. The models I make are not exactly going to win any awards for detail, but I make them in hope that most people understand what I'm trying to achieve with them.

    As for FPS, it depends what part of the park you're in, and what direction you're facing, but it holds up well still on my laptop. It significantly improved when they updated NL a few months ago in the Infinity update. It doesn't mean it's perfect, but I think it's pretty good considering phase 2 currently has;

    -5 coasters (21 separate trains, 86 cars),
-4 working water rides (22 boats/rafts in total)
    -2 scripted flatrides
    -5 keyframe animated flatrides
    -3 static flatrides
-12 pieces of music (16 if you include ambience noises)
-5 keyframe animated scenery set pieces (this will be more, I'm currently working on something I hope will finish Remnant off)
    - Scripted fire and water effects throughout the park
    - And then all the rest of the scenery that makes up the 6 themed zones, entrance area and hotel & foliage).

So I think it does pretty well, and I'm hoping most people will be able to comfortably run the park.

Speaking of flatrides, as I mentioned I've animated a couple of basic flatrides in blender (thanks to TCM's excellent tutorial), but for these to be complete, I'd like to add an on ride camera to the pieces. I'm not too sure if it would be complicated to do this, a camera would be easy enough, but I don't know how I'd get it to follow the animation? Any help on this would be appreciated.
Pictures look great of the park. A lot of new details. I hope I can open the park and don't get the message: "Out of memory", if it has too much details, park won't open because I don't have enough RAM.
Will you upload part 2 in 2015 or will it be 2016 ? Will you create the cave ride at the park entrance ?

    Keep going, looks great !

If you need Crazycoaster I make a script for put a camera in an animated ride/piece. I also send this script to Jcat and It work also for him and own chaos ride.
I use this script for my Top Spin. It is not perfect but It work :). Thanks Bestadani to help me to fix It.

    Change line22:
    m_topspin = m_sco.getElementForName("GONDOLA_SEDUTE");

GONDOLA_SEDUTE with the name of the piece of your model where you want put the camera. Be sure you have correct pivots points.

Put the script in the same folder where you have the model.

If you want change the name of the file to adapt to your pipeline, after change the name of the file change also line 4 in the script:
    public class topstest extends Script

change toptest with the name of your file.

    Hope this help you.

I guess 24 gigs of memory should be enough to run this expanded park?

    This is.. Well.. Different.. o_o
Come on... Now you have me wondering what this could be, but I guarantee it will be amazing
Godzilla is that you?? Whatever the hell that is... looks terrifyingly amazing.
Wow, haven't checked this in a LONG time. Nice to see that phase 1 finally came out! Can't wait to rate it and give it a full on treatment sometime soon I hope. Then again I might wait for phase 2... or 3...

And coaster... STOP IT! JUST STOP IT! PLEASE... you torture us with such. Absolutely stunning work. I can't wait to see phase 2 uploaded! Any approx. ETA, or it's done when it's done? (phase 2)
    Thanks man!

As for an ETA, It shouldn't be too much longer, both The Badlands and The Wilds have been completely finished, I'm just adding the finishing touches to the third new area, The Mystic Hollow. I have just finished the soundtrack to the area's signature coaster, need to complete a few more signs and set pieces and it'll be ready.

I've taken a couple new shots to show progress.

I've redone pythons station so that it is open to the elements:

New toilet block in the Badlands:

Part of the story of Remnant will be told via old newspaper clippings around the queueline:

Quick to utilise Kyle Sloan's trees

Because one of the new areas is called The Wilds, it didn't make sense to also have a 'Wild Canyon'. This has now been renamed Lightning Canyon, and to fit in with the new story theme, Canyon River Expedition is now also 'Lightning Rapids'

Here is a view of PorthPorto from the outer section of Mystic Hollow:

And some interior shots, showing the main entrance for the indoor coaster 'Arborak - Guardian of the Forest':

"Take a thrilling journey through the mystical forests, but beware of its Guardian, the legendary Arborak. Coming face to face with the creature will send you into a spin!"

'Moon Dance' is the name of the Zierer Kontiki attraction:

    Terra from across the water:

And finally, I have shot a raw POV of the park's Intamin Sky Jump ride, which can be watched here:
