Looks like olympia is revealing its true form, with all 7 cars now in operation as of today

Damn, it must be very crowded there! They usually only run 7 car trains on octoberfest and nowhere else.
  2.
Went on it today at about 5.30pm. Running only the one train because it was pretty quiet. It's pretty good, sat in the back row, nice and forceful, but the experience is ruined by the shoulder restraints. As soon as there is any force it pushes down on you further and further.

I was just watching TPR's video of Lost City of Gold at Sunway Lagoon, look at the support structure to the right of this photo!

It was on Six Flags' Facebook! It must be true!
  4.
It was a contest that Six Flags held on their Facebook. I remember participating in it. They'd pit two coasters together, you'd vote for the one you like more, and the winner would move on to the next round. Le Monstre won. It might've even beat X2 in the final round IIRC. Not too much wtf here other than SF having a lot of Canadian fans.

But the statement "the best in the world" is probably the farthest thing from the truth, and no way could it beat out those other three four. Overall it's illegitimate :/
  5.
It's just another marketing slogan. BPB claimed MMXVIII would be the best ride in the world just last week, so it's not an isolated thing.

Le Monstre is one of the worst coasters I've ever been on. I've been on 36 of Six Flags's coasters and it's down there with Apocolypse, Mind Eraser, and Batman The Dark Knight.

didn't know, that something like this exists as "art":

    Euthanasia Coaster (wikipedia)
The Euthanasia Coaster is an art concept for a steel roller coaster designed to kill its passengers.

need to test it in NL2 this evening.

But its not accurate in NL2.
take the train to 360 kilometres per hour (220 mph)

The top-Speed there is only 340kp/h instead of 360kp/h (i used a vertical drop) >.<

Thats the real WTF right now :/

Being used to some more accurate NL2 coasters I actually thought WTF already seeing that lift (or is that intentional -> probably worth a two times WTF):

Watch it here if you do not want to use the TPR channel ;-).

Do they not know strict nodes or are their lifts really curved?

But actually doing some curved and banked lift could add some exitement to that "boring" part I think (no I don't really think that they plan to build it like this, if my irony was not clear enough).

Actually that was the original, and somehow, this was the fix:

See how the supports are cut, while on the previous images, they are normal. There is also a slight change of paint color on the newer support.
  11.
When would you say this was put in place? RCDB photo timestamp's show that it looks like it had the more sane design was there in early 2015

    https://gyazo.com/275f3632abd7813294cb0c23883d524e

4/22/2015 according to RCDB. It might just be the angle though

Yeah, I was a bit confused as well... After a deeper inspection, it seems that the ride went throught two retracks. The first version was the one you postedinitially. Then they had problem with speed, and thus lowered the track (my post). But they somehow had a feeling it wasn't quite right, and they made a smoother exit:

This is a picture took in 2015, found on RCDB but on the park page. See how the support is cut, and not a complete A-frame like in the very first version.

I did some research myself and sort of reached the same conclusion too. So technically my point is still valid, albeit i used the wrong photo for a reference

    @HZGarfield

That's somehow even worse than I was expecting. If it looks smooth, I think it's the mounting point of the camera smoothing things out a bit. Look at where the rails meet the edge of the video frame for a better gauge of just how rough it is. Even during the loops it's pumping like every five feet. That's a dumpster fire of a coaster if I've ever seen one...

I'm just not sure how it's possible that these companies are selling rides in 2016. What the hell.

Their target audience seems like it could only be "amusement park owners who have the money and desire to install a roller coaster, but no actual awareness of how to differentiate between rides that are good and rides that are shambling catastrophes of design and engineering." And, perhaps concerningly, there seem to be plenty of park operators who fit that bill.

maybe those companies are the reason, why so many are scared of rollercoasters. Not because of fear, but rather because their first ride was on one of those rollercoasters and they remember, that it hurts.

Just a theory, but could be plausible...
