Speed Monster inspired intamin rocket. Made using altlenny's amazing fvd++ very supportive of his software!

Custom Environment and Lighting as well as custom textures. Just wait for the custom trees!

I swear everyone has a different client from me. I have all of my settings maxed and it simply never looks this good.

    I love that fern plant.
    • CommentTimeJan 28th 2014
Wow, what sort of settings are you using for the lighting?! it looks incredibly realistic. Top Job!

^^Trust me its not your client haha Its really amazing what some lighting and texture changes can do. Every foliage texture including the ground is custom. Plus the poster screenshots always make it look amazing..

^Lighting is just darker ambient color. Now the shadows are vivid for a better sense of depth and realism etc
Did you place every single piece of grass on the ground? You're crazy.

Anyways, you really need to show us how to make such amazing envs.

^Magical thing called autoplant. It adds them all over the ground automagically..

    For the env.

Step 1 - open environment editor
Step 2 - change ambient color to darker grey
Step 3 - turn off dynamic sky
Step 4 - add skybox of choice
Step 5 - save new env

^^I can send them to you once they are finished.

This is so beautiful. Did you find a good shade for your last train? Maybe green or cardinal red.

The rock texture is slightly not as good as the rest, though.
Holy crap Kyle, amazing plants and foliage. The images look real. Wow.

And then there's the high standard with your trackwork and polish from your prior rides. If this is anything like those, this ride is going to be awesome.
    • CommentTimeJan 29th 2014
You need to teach, I tried to follow the directions you gave, but all I get is a darker colour of the entire map, not shadows.
Sorry to override your thread Kyle, but all I can find is the basic environment editor in the "Park" tab. Where is the more advanced one that allows you to control ambient occlusion settings?
    • CommentTimeJan 29th 2014
You need to go the Advanced tab, then choose Environment Editor and open up the ENV you wish to edit.
^^^It will make the entire map look dark unless you lighten the color of the track and supports, and change the textures, which are all, by default, very dark textures and colors. Its not a one click thing by any means. Lots of tweaking.

^^Advanced tab, go to the sun tab in the env editor

You should create a tutorial of some kind showing your tweaks, they do look absolutely brilliant. If there is anything we all want it's more realism and you seem to have got it nailed very well here!

What specs are the best balance between performance and appearance?
    Meh, looks ok.

    (said nobody ever)
That's one epic .env! Nice job!
Custom Tree Textures! Also more custom ground, dirt, mud, and clovers..

That is awesome! The only problem I can see is that the clover-ish plants appear to have no stem.
for a second i tought it was real

Well, time for me to retire my ENV work. Looking brilliant mate.

Holy shit. That is the most amazing thing in the entire universe.
    • CommentTimeJan 30th 2014
Your support in the foreground of the last picture has the wrong rail connector on it. Just thought I'd let you know :) Looks awesome btw. On first glance, this looks absolutely real.
Yeah, I'm definitely gonna steal this and at least do some kind of video experiment with it. Or do a full-blown production, because I have nothing to offer on my end, and this looks fantastic.

Picture are not working! Arrrrgh. :(
So I guess I broke my Photobucket but it doesn't Matter.. The new pics of the (probably) finalized environment are far better! Very excited about how this turned out. (tip: set the diffuse color to be slightly yellow and the shadow color to be slightly blue for a lively and dynamic feeling lighting!!!)

For Full size photos check out my photostream! -
I want to record this so bad you don't even know.

When do you think it will be released? Is there still more things to flesh out or are you nearing completion?
^I still have to finish my supporting. Also I'm planning on making a custom station and scripted hydraulic launch. The track itself is probably my best work and I want to put the time into the details.

Fantastic!!! definitely have the environment aspect nailed!! Great tips for sure.

Considering your other tracks are already impressive, this is great to hear. I'm really looking forward to release, but do take your time!
Wish people would stop using Photobucket already.
Imgur is, IMO, the only good image site left.

What 3ds are you using for the launch fins?

It really looks great. The environment can't even be described. Can't wait to see more!

^ Please tell me you're going to script the fins to make them raise just after the train passes?
^the fins do that automatically they are the brakes that are part of the game

    • CommentTimeFeb 1st 2014 edited
Dont they all move at once though? Suppose you could just have many brake segments, broken into lengths that match the real thing. Real rockets they go up in stages.
    • CommentTimeFeb 1st 2014
For the environment, some small scattered rocks and such around the hills would be cool.
^good idea! With good textures I could make that look really nice
Definately! As many as you want haha
    • CommentTimeFeb 2nd 2014
You should defiantly create some Realistic Env. files!
I'll just make an environment pack with every file or something
Guys check it out I made it to the nl2 Facebook page!
They misspelled your last name though lol
Hahaha yeah I was thinking about saying something but some random person I don't know beat me to it. Kind of bizarre..
