Still in the process of optimizing but I've been making the Marmaliser theming element from The Smiler over the past couple months.

  1.
^ Looks amazing. Can't wait to see Smiler finished in Phase 1!
  2.
im feeling like a welding machine by now.
I want to test, how much detail i can put into a texture and still see it in NL2 (without clipping through the object).

btw: its supposed to be a rollercoaster wheel.

And this is her hair test. Stiffness still needs to be higher.

    Looks insanely good though!

What's up guys, here's another screen.

  6.
I'm curious to see how you could make a coaster from this movie. Or you could make a pretty interesting dark ride anyways
  7.
I want it to have a small darkride section but most of it will be a coaster.

This will be the entrance to the ride. I wanted it to look like the Minion Mayhem ride with the house ''hiding'' the showbuilding.

    I'll stop spamming.

Dude definitely make a project thread for this. I love the ideas you have for it so far and totally looking forward to seeing a finished product. Really nice job overall.

Tips? I would wrap the show building in different cardboard cutouts of cities and what not, rather than a blank cloudy sky. Only since in the movie, the house is surrounded by massive skyscrapers and what not. Hell, even have some 3D buildings that jut out of the showbuilding for a nice realistic effect.

How did you texture the house? Did you UV it, or did you use some other form of witchcraft? lol..
They look good. Whole thing looks good.
  8.
I just googled some textures and used them in Sketchup? But, this is a render, it looks 1000000% better then it looks in Nolimits.

It's not bumpmapped or anything because I'm dumb and I don't know how that works.

^ Ah ok, you must have used a separate rendering program. It kinda looked like you'd rendered it in Blender..
Don't worry, i'm smart-ish and i still can't get UV mapping to play nicely with me.

My friend made the Lego technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS for me. And then i made it look nice.

    technic porsche1
    technic porsche2

I had to make both the wheels and the wheel arches myself, as those parts weren't in Leocad. And the flexible orange axles forming the roofline etc, i made those too. I couldn't get the wheel arches 100% accurate, but i think they look alright (they were difficult to get right) And i'm really happy with how the wheels turned out.

    Requested project 3 days :

Pushcar set (3 pieces) with Launchtrack for Vekoma Launchcoaster (like Disney RnR / Xpress Platform 13)

Yes, it's very surprising when you initially figure it out lol.
  13.
I was under the impression that it was an LSM launch all this time... but its some LSM/"push" car hybrid? Huh?

Wait, you guys never knew those Vekoma LSM had a pusher car? Oh, well then. ^^

About why they have one instead of be directly acting on the train, I heard it was to keep the same chassis design versus having to redesign it. That way, Vekoma was able to keep all their previous track hardware as well.

Today i also learned the space mountain mission 2 uses an "Electric winch launch system"

Here u can see the Pushcar getting Launched without the train.

^ I'm jealous of that kid, haha!

^^ No. The Arrow system is like a powered electric car that directly pushes the train. On Space Mountain, it's basically the same thing as an hydraulic launch, but instead the motor that spins the wheel is electric.

Has anyone here ever used a program called Mari, or even have it? (texture painting program)
I downloaded it recently (non-commercial version) hoping i'd be able to use it to make some really neat looking textures and maps for my models, but i just can't seem to get my head around it. I've watched a few tutorial videos, and i'm still lost, hahaha. I'm normally good with these sort of things, i got the Blender basics figured out pretty quickly. But it seems rather complex.

So yeah, i was just wondering if anyone had any experience with it, and could offer some pointers for me.

So, this is a stone made for nl2. I'm quit happy with it!
    Here is the model (sketchfab)

    This is it in nl2

There are textures used but no texture is imported in blender. All is made with blenders material editor.

    Edit: Should I make a rock/stone pack?
