Bronco is a western themed premier rides launch coaster that features a 52 MPH launch into a fast turn and up a 100 foot top hat. The ride then plummets into twist and turn through the soon to be western themed aria. The new gen premier trains are curtsy of Codemaster. Please note the trains are not final as code is still texture them and working out some bugs. I am aware that the support connectors are not the correct style for a premier ride. That type of track connector is not included in the simulator at the moment. I do how ever know a way to make similar connectors and will most likely go back and add them. The magnet brakes, Lim's, holding brakes, and drive tires are all costume 3ds made by me. And yes the drive tires do spin. I hope to have more updates out soon but as I am working on the 3ds for 6FlagsManiac's project phoenix and I am not sure when I will be able to work on the rest of the 3ds for Bronco. For now please enjoy the picture below.

Looks like a nice original ride, true to the style of Premier Rides, I like it!

I heard complains coming from the MCBR being lower than the following heartline, but if it's like Sky Rocket, this is just a trim brake, plus I see a tire, so, it seems fine to me. The only thing I don't like is the color scheme. Looks like RCT3. I would suggest to tame them down a little bit (you can keep them vibrant, see Thunderbolt) and not to have 3 of them, but 2. At least that's my opinion.

Ha and I see you used old Premier track for the tri-tubes. I think the Vekoma motorbike one would suit it better, as the cross-ties are "straights". That or a complete 3D track, lol.

I'll be following this for sure, keep up the good work!

    Thanks you so much :D

The MCBR is a full brake run with a friction brake in case the train needs to stop (I will show those off along with the magnets, drive tires, and lim's in the next update). The hearline roll after the MCBR is at a downward angle so when the brake release it can roll through it. The drive tires also help propel the train forward. That was originally one of the problems I had when I was building the track lol. The colors I will tone them down a bit, it also makes since to since the western architecture for the 3ds consist of more dull colors and textures. About the track I never though to use the motor bike coaster but now that I'm playing around with it I will definitely change the track style to that.

I like the layout a lot, though I'm a little iffy about the transition out of the mcbr into the heartline roll. I feel like that can be developed a little better, same for that last portion of track. Great work so far, I hope the trackwork is of good quality. I look forward to seeing this develop.

    (UPDATE 5-28-14)

Edit (I have made the color of the track less bright than it is in this update I have also fixed all of the square footers to circular ones)

The 3ds for the magnetic brakes, lim's, drive tires, and friction brakes are done (well almost). Since I had to re-color the track the yellow on the magnetic brakes no longer matches the track. I do have them saved in sketch up so I can go back and edit them so there's no problem. The drive tires also have basic texture on them, witch I hope to update eventually. But for now I don't know where I can fine the correct tire texture for them. The friction brakes how ever are final and copied form Full Throttle and Sky Rocket. The launch will also work identical to full throttle where the lim's turn on and the friction brake releases the train letting the lim's take over

     photo poster-2014-05-28-22-36-32.png

I have had some close and person time with full throttle due to my uncle being in a higher position of management magic mountain so I went of off memory and some other pictures.

     photo 2b43be83-2e41-48ab-a1d6-0e29f5ed2a4a.jpg

however as my ride is not as fast as full throttle and is more around the sky rocket category so I only need to use single bladed lim's and magnetic brakes

     photo poster-2014-05-28-22-31-55.png

the magnetic brakes still need to be recolored.

     photo poster-2014-05-28-22-27-06.png

(note the drive wheel's where temporarily taken off of the MCBR in this photo and are in place now)

     photo poster-2014-05-28-22-29-11.png

And one last shot of the heartline roll out of the MCBR just for fun :D

     photo poster-2014-05-28-22-34-07.png

If I'm quick enough I mite have another 3ds update later tonight.

Colors look better, but still not really getting a "western" vibe from this. Maybe the supports could be brown or something. Can't wait to see the 3ds for this, I know they'll be fantastic.
Haha, loving the shots... ; )

I do agree with Brawly though. If you're going for a western vibe, I'm not getting it.
    • CommentTimeMay 29th 2014
Since the last update I got the basic queue and bridge done and it's starting to have more of a western feel to it. Hopefully when I add more 3ds it will have even more of a western feel.

    (BIG UPDATE 5-29-14)

edit: the update was so big I have to split it into two part.

    (Part 1)

I have completed the queue/path 3ds, the fencing 3ds is complete as well. I have imported it all into nl2 and added lots of LOD to save frames. when I'm done I hope to be able to have bronco run on even bad computers.

well with that said lets dive into the update.
In these first two shot you can see the now complete queue line from the front and back of the ride.

     photo bb58d79251dac0eb3e3378bebf26d93d.png

     photo 3123f551bf79b726a78cc40a6c67d6a6.png

In these next shot's you can see the front entrance to the ride and viewing patio.

     photo 21e37a8dd52131826c541957405fb054.png

     photo 7f2e95e0b1c4ca30680478518e5251d7.png

here you can see a back view of the entrance to the ride and queue. the queue is located to the left and the fast pass and exit are located to the right

     photo 70f0247b2fdf63e246f660f174228582.png

the next shot is of the over flow section of the queue located right under the exit of the Immelmann, or if you want to be fancy in premier rides term a "reverse snake dive"

     photo c44f87ffdfc712c647caa8be4b556762.png

The reason the wooden fence is there and not the iron rod fence is because its hiding the final brake run and transfer track from the view of the guest waiting in line. When the station is in place the brake run and transfer track will no longer be visible from the queue.

Just a nice picture of the soon to be station and launch.

     photo 5e02cdaf65c2afdfb01961b6b5d414ca.png

Here are codemasters marvelous premiere rides new gen launch trains. he is still texturing them and even got them to shine like real metal.

     photo f1b4d0a102d87ec92dd2c0d485bbf988.png

As for the railing in the queue I plan on making them with supports like this.

     photo d14ffdce-4fd4-4d16-9074-15aa4b4d2ba1.png
That's it for now. I hope to have more done in the next update but it all depends on what time allows me as I have finals coming up fro school next week. the things left on the list are the station, queue railing, cross under tunnel for the exit, dive through building for the bottom of the Immelmann, benches, trashcans, lights/lamps, and the rest of the western theming/detail.

If worst comes to worst and the ride still doesn't give off a western feel with all the theming in place it will be re colored but for now the colors are staying.
I think if you just changed the support colors it would be good. But I think you should have dirt/sand instead of grass for the western feeling, and instead of deciduous trees maybe some cacti and some tumbleweeds, and maybe an oil rig, some barns, etc.? I'm just throwing out my ideas. I love this and I couldn't do any better but I'm just giving some suggestions!
    • CommentTimeMay 30th 2014

Are the LSMs custom? If so, match them to the train design - they clip at the moment.

    • CommentTimeMay 30th 2014
This looks good. I'm not getting that western feeling, but I'll wait to see the finished version to give my opinion. Low the LSMs a bit and you are fine. I like the layout a lot. The heartline roll seems to be taken at very low speed. With lapbars you'd get a lot of hangtime, so I hope it is like that.
    • CommentTimeMay 30th 2014
Regarding the LIM's they are at the right height but since the trains are in a early stage they don't have the slot for the LIM's/magnetic brakes yet. Thecodemaster is still workin on them and they will hopefully be finished soon.

I actually planned on adding sand and dirt spurning the ride I just have gotten to it. The trees aren't permanent either I plan on making the environment more of a desert forest kinda like some arias of California. It's funny you mention adding buildings as I plan on doing so. I didn't think of a oil rig though, I mite have to add that to the list ;)

The brake run dosnt really slow down the ride that much, you go through the roll at around 20 to 18 mph. But it dose provide some good hang time. If the ride has to make a E stop and stops the train completely then it pulls some awesome airtime that some lucky rides would get in case of a emergency :)

    (UPDATE 7-17-14)

Sorry for not updating in such a long time. I tend to take brake's when I get board or uninspired on projects.
When I'm having fun with a project I tend to do my best work. Well since that is out of the way now, onto the update.

Here's a shot of the entrance with the new Stand By and Fast Pass wait times. There will be a logo with the ride name but I'm waiting on Chukensky to finish the logo ;)

Here is a close of of the wait tine sign. Its hard to tell in the picture but the digital numbers glow.
while I was taking a brake I messed around with the NLMAT and NLCSO editor and now have a pretty good understanding of them.
I know how to make metal shine, make water textures, and create lights.

The queue line rails are now completely finished. like I said before they are done completely with supports.

A shot from the first switch back of queue

My new NLSCO knowledge helped me recolor the bottom of the LIM's from gray to yellow to match the track

Using supports I made a premier rides switch track and created platforms under the storage track for the engineers to work on the trains

A shot of the new oil rig I modeled for the ride.

A full shot of the ride showing off the new oil rig and dive through tunnel.

The themed facade of the dive through tunnel.

A shot of the dive through tunnel from above. The tunnel also features mist.

Now onto the newly themed over flow queue. I wanted to create a old western graveyard for the ride so I modeled a couple of tomb stones.
the grave yard was originally supposed to be in the front section of the queue but I changed it to the over flow queue as I though it would suit it better.

That rock right there is no normal rock......ITS A SPEAKER ROCK!!! lol. Another new feature of the bronco queue is audio.
there is now ambient music that includes the main theme for bronco and other western instrumentals.
the script is also courtesy of Mr CodeMaster himself.

Another shot of the tombs stone in the over flow queue.

And one last shot from the over flow queue of the new dive through tunnel.

For those wondering if I recolored the magnetic brake the answer is no I'm lazy lol. That will be in the next update.
I did however make the drive tires shine with the NlSCO editor.

Bronco is now around 80 percent done. I still need to make the station, tunnel for the exit under the launch, and get some custom desert plants from Codemaster.
As for the trains code is completely over hauling them and redoing them from scratch, as there where a few imperfections and it was easier to redo them.

There a couple more surprises coming for bronco but for now that's the end of the update :D.

    comments and suggestions welcome.
Looks great, nice work! Love the theming.

Compared to the first screenshots this ride has evolved quite a lot. The theming looks brilliant, great job!
this is a very realistic approach i can see a park actually doing something just like this.
    • CommentTimeJul 19th 2014
^ Thank you :). that was one of my goals when I set out to make the ride in the first place. I know allot of people make Intamin, B&M, or Gerstlauer rides on the forums but they don't always feel realistic. Its good you can see a actual park doing this ;). If your in the giant NL Skype chat you get that last reference lol.

Not really a update per say but code re designed the trains to be completely accurate.
This one is the second car so it doesn't have the front panel or the bumper

In game picture to come soon.

(edit) code just put them in game but he still needs to add the front panel and bumper.
surprisingly they look better in game then in the render. that's a first lol

Wow.. Thats a stunningly good looking train. And if it looks better in the simulator then I can't wait to see the ingame version!

    Great job TCM

and 1bleushe... I haven't taken a good look at this tread.. and now that I did I just want to say: It looks pretty cool
Wow those cars look awesome. The coater is looking pretty nice as well, intrigued to see how this turns out.
    • CommentTimeJul 19th 2014 edited
The trains are done!!!! well for the most part. I just noticed code forgot to add the bumper lol. There still very sexy though.
I am aware the lims are to high but I think the magnets are fine, I'm to sure as I don't have them yet. the images and gif where provide by code.
I am also aware of the messed up hartline on the 2 tube track. I'm going to fix that in the next update.

(edit) code finished the trains :D

This has to be my favorite shot of the trains so far.

The trains look excellent. But is your heartline value right? Also, consider reducing the size of your gravel texture.
    • CommentTimeJul 19th 2014
^ The heartline is off because the old gen premier track and intamin track have different values. I'm going to fix it in the next update. As for the gravel I did have it at a smaller size but it looks weird as the texture repeat become very visible and it look unrealistic.
    • CommentTimeJul 19th 2014

Resize your pictures. You should know the rules by now. If you don't know how, then use the "large thumbnail" option instead of "original". Or just do what everyone else does and add:
At the end of your image code:

I have been gone for a while because I needed a break from NL2 since I was getting pretty burnt out on it. But now I'm back and ready to continue this and many other (TOP SECRET) but BIG projects ;D

since the new NL2 update I have switched the track over to the new single spine modern intamin track. It looks more realistic to modern premier track and looks 100 time sexier.

And if you cant tell by now I have been using plants from nSeven's amazing foliage set.

I have been redoing the supports and adding connectors to all of them.

    (Without connectors)

    (With connectors)

A shot of the queue with new plants

One of the biggest things that happened before my big hiatus was the Addition of the station

Excuse the messed up LSM, drive tires, and brakes. changing the track messed up the placement.

Here is the back of the station where the storage track is located

Like I said before in previous updates the wooden fence obscures guests view of the storage track and maintenance area from the queue

A view from a cast members only balcony

Now time for insdie the station. The station is themed to a Sheriff's station complete with soon to be furnished jail sells and wanted posters.

There are also two area's for ride ops to stand while the train is launching, and a elevated control booth for the ride.

With some scripting magic those pink textures will be replaced with video feed from points around the ride just like real premier coasters.

quest's will be able to put their loos articles and belonging on shelf's while riding

One final shot out the window from the station

Hopefully I will have a new update by this weekend
    • CommentTimeApr 30th 2015

Great to see this project back again. The theming and scenery here is great, but I still don't feel the colours of the track and supports fit with the western theme of the ride.
