As some of you have most likely know for a bit of time now, I have been working on a coaster that was originally created by Kyle Sloane, he was happily able to give the ride over to me to finish up, and complete the once dead project from over the summer.

Before the ride was converted into a Floorless coaster named Hydra, It was once just titled "Compact Hyper" It was a Blue and Teal coloured Bolliger & Mabillard (4 across) Hyper Coaster. That was build next to a river with some close-call cliff fly-bys. It was featured with a Interlocked hammerhead system, and no Inversions.

The rethemeing/finishing of the project ended up with the conversion of a Hyper to a Floorless Coaster, a Purple, and near Black colour scheme, and one Zero-G roll now in place (Which is actually just a recent addition from this post.

the only thing that is from made by Kyle is the ground work, and the Track it's self, The Colouring, supporting, 3d-modeling (And the final ending station/break-run area) is all made by me, but it's conciderably part Kyle of Kyle's coaster, and part of my collection of coasters. Which is a small list. haha.

Now, onto the coaster part, that you guys most likely wish to see again.

(For these pictures, Scenery was disable so you may take a look at the track work, and support work, which is still being worked out in some areas.)

Obviously the station is still a work in progress, I finally finished the roof after dealing with an un-leveled error I made early on. But I like how it turned out.

The trackwork is amazing, obviously. I am liking the look of the station so far. Looking forward to seeing more.

What made you change the ride from a hyper to a floorless? Having a floorless with only one inversion seems a bit wierd. Liking the look of this a lot so far, clean presentation. I am impressed Aussie :^)

The layout is looking really nice, supports seem to be good as well except the chain return. Usually the chain return doesn't meet the track untill the bottom of the lift. Could you change this or does it cause some trouble wiht the clearance? If there are clashes you might think about getting completely rid of it.

Interesting project! It´s only a tip, because i think the railings of the station are a bit over-scaled. It looks a bit rough in comparsion to the design of the station =)

I'm not really feeling the conversion to Floorless. It seems a bit of a wasted opportunity. I like the layout and the supports look sufficient however.

I'm not sure what other style you could convert it to (if you are set on a conversion) but I just don't feel it's warranted given the style of layout.

@SixFlagsManiac: I just really wanted to make a floorless coaster, and I've never really gotten an opportunity too, I just might try other ideas just to see what I can get.

@lujach92: I never gotten around to repairing that section just yet, but It won't stay like that forever.

@Chukensky: Thanks. :) I'm still trying to work out the station a little bit, trying new things with the front faces of it.

@MGrides: Yeah, as said to Chuckensky, I'm still working out how to station will fully look in the end, I do like the roof design I finally worked out in the end.

Kyle actually gave me this coaster a while back too, so my question is how did you add the 0 g since the ride was made in fvd? Did you delete the nodes in that area and then hand build it?

^No, The nodes are the same, I took out a few roll nodes, and edited out the roll that way.
  3.
So you simply added roll nodes to the airtime hill that was there?

Speaking of a station, I am in need of help with the station, I'm having problems figuring out what textures I wish to use for the station, and I don't know what to really do.

Trying out some textures, and I have this currently.

I'm going to try to get a good roof design in soon.

Looks very bland, maybe try a different texture that doesn't repeat as much?

I've been trying to find something, but there really isn't anything that works well like that, not unless someone wants to get the texture and edit it.

You could try breaking it up by using a different texture in the highlighted area:

    DNC98hG

But don't use another brick/block style texture, use a solid stone or plastered texture.

I really like the look of that. looks much more like a standard station with the cement base now.

That looks really good, I would make it a little darker though.

I actually believe it needs to be a lot lighter.

Yep, I do need someone to help make the ride operating booth, and then maybe someone to help work on the area where a support has to be on the station, and thememing that area.
  4.
I think you should be aiming for a much lighter look; right now it's still too saturated and looks almost cartoonish. The modelling looks great, but with everything being so dark it takes away from the overall quality. This might be an odd request, but maybe make everything just a bit more gray? Like start from the original light brown and touch it up to be softer (and *slightly* darker). That would look fabulous (in my opinion).
  5.
Don't forget to fix SketchUp lighting in NL. Not sure, but that could be why it's so dark. Consider adding some contrast too, maybe have the beams really dark and everything else a bit lighter, or opposite...something along those lines, unless you have a specific feel you're going for that doesn't have much contrast.
