Even though this is just about 5 years away. There is some news already coming to 2020.

Specifically the fact that Paramount Parks and BBC are teaming up to create a brand new Theme Park, showcasing shows like Top Gear (UK), Doctor Who, Star Trek, and obviously Paramount Movie themed rides like what was used to be in Kings Island, and other now owned Cedar Fair parks.

I know the images are small, other than the logo. But It was all I could really find out there for now.

Why not make a thread specifically for the park, not 2020 as a whole? I don't want to think so far in the future yet.

because there would be more 2020 news in the future. Why make a bunch of little threads when you can make a 2020 thread as a whole. Isn't that how the year threads got started anyways?

Because there's not going to be any more news in the near future for this far ahead.
  1.
Why do people get so butthurt over these threads being started lol
  2.
2020's gonna happen sometime, might as well start a thread now.

I don't know why everyone is getting nuts over the Paramount park these days around the web. I mean, projects like this pop up like every month, but in the end, only about one out of 10 makes it to the end. I'll wait before being hyped for that.

Because for about 4 years or so, this thread will remain dead.
  3.
It will be added to as time goes by, it's not a problem.

It's more a case of whether Paramount park will open in 2018, 2019, or 2020. The opening date seems to change with every publication. There is a Paramount park opening in Murcia, Spain for 2018, apparently. So a thread for that year could be started too.

I would change this thread to "Future Concepts, Rides and Parks". This way we could cover anything and everything from 2016 (We already have a 2015 Thread) and up. so this thread wouldn't have to die and interested people can still look up what the future brings.

Look, if you guys don't like seeing the 2020 thread yet, how about try not posting in it! ;) Otherwise, it'll stay unless I sink it which I don't want to.
  5.
Can we all just be a little less butthurt about a thread for a year that is imminent? Lets get real, there are always going to be things in this world we will not like for say but by no means is that a warrant to complain about it or request a change in the name of a topic on an online forum. Get over it. Find something better to complain about for f*ck's sake. Rant over.

Oh my god, I forgot this thread was already there. x)

By the way, the Paramount project we were talking about has been postponed to 2021 already.

Good news for Tokyo Disneyland! I think Soarin' is a really great choice for Disney Sea, especially with that Leonardo DaVinci twist on it.
Another great addition is the Beauty and the Beast dark-ride. I'm almost certain they'll put that amazing Lumière animatronic again and it makes me hyped just for that! (If you're curious about how Lumière works... Click here, but beware it's a major spoiler.)

While I'm not butthurt, I will be honest and say that I didn't even see a point with a 2018 topic yet, let alone a 2020 topic. I guess we're getting ahead of our times LOL.

@Skye (First post) Damnn, that looks so cool! I saw some stuff about it earlier and I was really surprised on how well it seemed to be.

I think that these threads should be made as news of that year comes out. I don't think it makes since to wait until it it's close. If someone here's about about 2020 coaster news I think that warrants a 2020 news thread.

^ Exactly, and if there isn't anymore news, the thread will sink anyway. The threads are relevant, organised, and constructive to this forums aims - unlike complaining continuously about petty niggles.

If that happens someone will probably end up making a new thread called 2020.

    Boom. What about that?

Can someone speaking swedish (*cough* JL) tell us more about that? Is the long-awaited B&M Invert finally confirmed for Grona Lund or is this yet another rumor?

Well, Gröna Lund did a building application yesterday for a B&M inverted coaster, which is 700 meters long, 34 meters high, estimated 100 km/h.
The coaster will be in the Tyroler part of the park.
And this B&M inverted will probably the first inverted coaster without a traditional loop, as the layout shows.

Grona Lund really was one of my favorite visit last year, seing their ability to squeeze coasters everywhere... And they keep doing more! Incredible. It look like a contest by COASTERGUY246.

The park only had one coaster with inversion, Insane (tho we had a run without being upside-down at all), so this is a good call. The drop facing the water will be amazing!
The lack of loop isn't a problem for me, and we will have a good g-force spike on the Jr. Immelman anyway. My only concern is the number of rolls ; that's quite a lot, I hope they'll feel different and not be too repetitive.

It looks fun, but it also looks repetitive? Two zero g rolls, two corks and a immelman. Still really nice to see that B&M 1st Gen inverts are still in the picture.
  10.
Its like a discount black mamba! Looks pretty good, but i do think the fact its all rolling inversions might be a tad repetitive. Will be interesting to see how this fairs up against Intamin's new invert style of layout

Reminds me quite a bit of Black Mamba. I kind of agree that the inversions are a bit repetitive, though it might just be the angle, but that last zero-g roll looks kind of like the zero-g/inline twist hybrid from the China Wing coaster, and if that's the case I think it should be fine.
  11.
Very nice to see another coaster coming in Gröna Lund. ...wait.. What? How?
    Now there will track everywhere!
    Posted By: KingRCT3(*cough* JL)

    Am I still needed :)
Also I don't think this is a rumor.
  12.

Kind of reminds me of a cross between the proposed holiday world invert and black mamba. Should be nice and fun, and the shaping seems to mix new and old B&M style elements.

The part that caught my eye was the tiny descending helix on the right. Those are (IMO) one of the most fun and surprising elements an invert can have, and I'm excited to see it make a comeback.

Just a little short, really. It looks like it takes advantage of the terrain reasonably well, but everything's pretty spread out. Maybe that downhill camelback would've been great, but it looks like it ends with a big fan curve ala Ice Dragon's first turn, and that's... meh. Thunderbird looks like the better of the two rides.

I think it needs more rolls.

^Definitely, another couple of 0-g's wouldn't have gone a miss... Possible 1 more corkscrew as well mb?
