I have been noticing people have been using the Idea Thread for just showing what they are working on, not for ideas. So this is to remedy that situation. Here you can post any random thing you are working on, that is small enough to not need a thread yet. so, I present the...

What did you just do in nolimits thread!

    Thread Rules & Guidelines:
    1. Be nice
    2. Dont drag things out until the dead horse you are beating has decomposed and is now oil.
    3. Don't spam the thread with 100s of pictures, keep it to 1-5 per post.

I have just started messing around with some 3D objects for the first time (rocks) and have a good feeling that I will actually finish a ride for once

  2.
I added some shells to the B&M wing coaster

    I may release them

Just added sensors and station detailing to my B&M giga. They also "clack" when the train passes over them, like on the real ones.

That should be included in game IMO! Great work.

In reality, what the team should do, the NL2 team, is they should include all the little details. Like, ability to customize station track wheels, friction breaks, and LIM break stuff, and add those little details like the sensors into the track, and station.

But, they can't do a whole lot because they don't want to ruin people's computer abilities to play and run the game. So what they can do, is add a detail slider, max is showing all the details, and minimum means only the important stuff is there, Wheels, friction breaks. Stuff like that, but on max, you get details like the sensors, and all that good stuff.

I really thought those sensors were actually included with the default track. But I that's why I had never noticed them when before I was playing the game.

When I said it makes the "clacking" sound when it passes over, the object itself isn't scripted to do that, you have to add triggers to the track in the right spots so it gets the right sounds.

But anyway, here's a download for the things if you want it:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/g129pad5vqpxjuu/B%26M.rar?dl=0

This pack feature the sensors in the 3 standard positions that B&M usually use on their rides.
    - Single vertical
    - 2 horizontal inline
    - 2 horizontal side by side

The Station mechanisms are cloured to a generic grey colour, to change the colour, either import the object into your preferred modeller and change it there, or use .NL2mat's

For the "clacking", you need to set down 9 triggers on the track and line each of them up with the wheel axles of each of the cars. 8 for the cars, 1 for the zero car (you'll kind of have to
guess where the zero car one should go for the floorless coaster). You will them have to name them Trig1, Trig2, Trig3, etc. from the back to the front. http://imgur.com/gsJ67nN
Once you have done that, Open sound.nlvm and in the line:

    private static final String sCoastername = "Zeus";
    (should be the 4th)

Change the name Zeus to the name of your coaster.
If all goes, a clacking sound should play as the train moves over them, both when exiting and entering the station.

side note: the script for the "clacking" is only compatible with trains of 8 cars in length (not including the zero car).

I'll admit, there's probably a much more efficient way of doing what I'm doing, but hey, it works.

    This is neat!

nice. flug der daemon comes to mind when looking at that

i have an issue with my layout though...

it is doing my head in soooooo much. its ok if you are in the front half of the train, but if you are in the back few rows, your neck would probably would have either ripped off, or be compressed into your body.

    any ideas?

Have the Immelmann rotate in the other direction?

When I do that, the turn goes strange. the track flattens out rhen goes into the needed roll for the turn. it looks wierd

In some cases, you can't use the No Lateral G's button. Check the roll of the next roll point and then change the one you're having problems with to about 10, 20 more of that.

No, keep the roll the other way, it's way more original! ;) Try to flatten the top maybe, instead of having it downward. Like a partial non-inverted loop.

I wish I had a computer that could run NL2 at max settings because I have so many ideas for a wing rider, I always draw layouts on paper and if I could execute them I would be so happy.
