A little update from my side, I have done the helix but I'm not happy with it yet after spending hours on it.

the shaping on the helix looks good, but I think it needs to be quite a bit lower :-)

I think you need you add a little more gray into the track color. It's close but the pictures show it a bit more tinted.

Great scenery, well done! The layout need some work, .. compared to this: Youtube: Baron 1989 - testing- .. i think your transitions and the last "camelback" is a bit off =)

    How do I fix this?

    • CommentAuthorMGrides
    • CommentTimeMay 16th 2015 edited

It´s because there is needed a trigger for the restraint animation. Set a trigger before the station segment and name it "a" (without the -> "). Problem solved :D I still haven´t time to figure out how you can control the restraints by the given time in the CC-script. TheCodeMaster could maybe help out, here?! ;)

I think you need to place a track trigger called "a" (lower Case. It allows for the harnesses to go up in the station.

    EDIT:Dammit MG!

This project looks great! One little detail: on the real coaster one of the wheels is rotating clockwise to "lift the train", the other one is rotating counterclockwise to "drop a counterweight". Here is a video of what I mean: https://youtu.be/Yxjp-DyxRBM

Looks really great. On a different but related note, mind writing up a few sentences as to how one rotates an object with the material editor? I'll need to do the same, but with a different application.

Rides really nice in that video, well done - For some reason I had it in my head that it went straight out of the helix into the brakes, it's nice to know it goes on a little bit longer!

The wheels and casings of the wheels are very edgy, u can change sides in SU (from 20 to 200) makes it much smoother.

    Looks really nice.

I've never really looked into this topic until now. This is awesome! I can't wait to ride it myself when it's released. In other words, I hope you do some great LOD's, the one thing that ruins an experience is lag. If you need any help (which I doubt you would) feel free to whisper to me. :)

Thanks guys for the amazing reactions!

After a long time working at school I finally have time to work on this project. For now a really small update ;)

It becomes boring to make the whole building on my one, so I take it easy from now. And making textures is a lot of work and its not always so fun haha.
If someone can make better textures or this good, you're welcome to join my team!

    Hope you guys like it!

(sorry if I made mistakes in my English)
