    Hi I am Lev.
I´m a 17-year-old Dutch mechatronics student (mechanical engineering)

I joined the forum since today: January 1th 2017

last week I noticed that control panels for NL2 are popular BUT there are not a lot of them in the whole world.
I like to make electronic wonders and you guys like these panels.
that’s the reason I’m asking a few questions to see if there are any people that still want a panel and how.

    Question list:

1 are you interested to book/reserve a NL2 control panel

2 how many buttons would you like

3 do you prefer illuminated or non-illuminated buttons

4 Allen Bradley (real rollercoaster control buttons) or other machine buttons

    5 Enclosure: Metal / plastic / transparent?

6 do you like to see button labels?

7 Key switch yes / no

8 turn switches / push buttons for harness and restrains?

    9 do you prefer big buttons (22mm) or small (16mm - 12mm)

if you have any other questions, you can ask them in the comments or mail to levitubex[at]

Sidenote: these questions are only for me to see if i need to make this possible.

Awesome that someone else is finally jumping on this train, very excited to see where this goes.
The reason there aren't many out there at the moment though is probably because they're very expensive. I know they're cool and all but they aren't essential to the program, so there isn't much reason to go out and spend $300 on one. The cheaper you can get it, the more of an audience you'll get, guaranteed.
so in response to your questions:
1: yes, the only problem right now is they are all very costly
2: not too sure, just whats necessary like dispatch, open/close gates, lock/unlock restraints
3: doesn't matter too much, preferably illuminated but if it drives up the cost a lot more it's not that essential
4: machine is fine, whatever is cheaper
    5: whatever is easier/cheaper
6: yes, they don't have to be very high quality though, just a well done sticker would be plenty
7: it would be cool to have on but it doesn't have to work, if it drives up the price again it's not essential
8: sure if it's not too expensive
9: doesn't particularly matter, bigger ones would be better
10: cheaper is better, I personally wouldn't pay much more than $100

^ I know that it's all about the price, but you have to know that even the cheapest parts for a panel like this make a total of... yeah expensive numbers.
to be honest i was really shocked of the minimal price for a panel.
so I just designed a cheap panel, 5 buttons and not too shitty
    it includes

    1 plastic enclosure
    1 Emergency stop
    2 rotary buttons
1 button for a action (you can decide what action)
    1 illuminated dispatch button

and this will cost around 80 dollars
    will probably look like this:

If you want to do it cheaply, surely there isn't a way to create an app which will link up to NL2 and act as the control panel? Although it may not be quite the real deal of a massive control panel, are there not rides which operate using a bloke with a tablet and some receptors?

well, it is possible to make an app for nl2 with a dongel, but I don't know a lot about app developing.
I want to have (like other people) a product with buttons and interaction :D

So I just finished my first NL2 Control panel!
I'm working on one other order right now
the 8 button panel looks like this:

    any questions?
    mail me at levitubex[@]
I wonder if you can code in B&M dispatches, like, push and hold until the other train has arrived. That'd be nice.
