Vanilla 1.1.9 is a product of Lussumo. More Information: Documentation, Community Support.

I did a competition set at southend last year, and it went fairly well (in my opinion), so I decided to revive the contest a little bit. This time, the template is completely fictional, and will allow for some more interesting restrictions to be implemented

Competition: To build a coaster in the given template that interacts with the blue vekoma "Wave Rider" with some restrictions put in place by the park owners.

Rules: The Coaster must be built within the blue outline, and not go below it (See Example 1) unless its in either the Yellow Starting area or Green Areas. Some areas of the park have different minimum height areas, and have been outlined by the red outlines (See Example 2). More specific details are listed in the wireframe track descriptions

    Example 1:

    Example 2:

    Example Coaster:

The contest will last 2 (ish) weeks from the 13th to the 29th of January

The template will be downloadable this Friday!

I really enjoyed the Southend Screamer contest, so I am looking forward to having fun with this one as well!
I would like to formally apologize for the atrocious drop shaping. (It's an arrow btw)

    Anyway I'm in

Nice template, great job guys, it will be very interesting! Good luck to all the contestants. :)
I'm probably in but I can't promise that I'll finish
    • CommentTimeJan 10th 2017
    meh, I'll try I guess
    Maybe, maybe.
    • CommentTimeJan 10th 2017
This is very interesting, similar to that Coaster X Contest. How did you change the color of the drop tower?
    • CommentTimeJan 10th 2017
Just for reference, how high is the top of that box?
Just over 200ft (the same height as the drop tower)

@tyrush Its the intamin drop tower from nolimits2advanced, i used the addon parts to add the alternating colours

    im in !
looks like fun restrictions which will produce lots of nice coasters
    • CommentTimeJan 10th 2017
    I'll take a shot, but it's a blindfolded one
I won't want to pass up on this contest. I'm in!

I'll give it a go - don't expect anything of quality, though.

Just for the record, I notice you've banned wooden supports - by extension, are woodies banned, then?
No. If you make a wooden coaster, you would need to add a steel spine and steel beam supports to make it viable
Can I still enter? If yes I'm in :)
Yep, you can enter and drop out at any time, I didnt want to lock the contest to only a select handful of people
I'll probably be in. Had fun last time so why not
    The Template is now Live!

    Standard Version: Download

    Slightly more optimised version: Download

You have until the 29th of January, Entry's can be sent in from the 22nd

Also, just to elaborate on the wooden supports ban:

If you did want to use the wooden coaster styles, the ride would need to be supported like so:

Can we do something like Wildfire's lift when doing wooden coasters maybe
Possibly, but it would be a lot of effort

So once again on wooden coasters supports. No wooden ones, make sense. Now do they have to be specifically like the the 3rd example or can we make a custom looking version of example 2 like the supports on Rolling Thunder Mine Train or Rutschebanen at Tivoli Gardens 1905. Also if we can only do the 3rd example style, could we put up walls like Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach's Roller coaster to hide said supports.
I will say that the thunder mine style will be ok, but not photo 2

Why you guys always have the urge to go to the edges of rules? Just make a damn steel coaster! x)

I'm really having fun with this template. Quick question though, are there any limits on where supports can be? Can they go outside of the blue boundaries or go in the red ones?
    • CommentTimeJan 14th 2017
From talking to CoasterGuy himself, supports can go anywhere but outside the blue (I think).
Can supports be on / through buildings?

Posted By: COASTERGUY246More spesific details are listed in the wireframe track descriptions

I think I t can go on the building but not out side of the blue
Yep, they can go anywhere in the blue area as long as it passes clearance with anything around it (i.e. the pinfari and vekoma). They cannot go outside it though
Is the tamplate supposed to not have any scenery? Cus my dosen't :(
Thats a bit odd... it does have scenery (see photos). Maybe redownload it?
    • CommentTimeJan 15th 2017
    Is the scenery view disabled...
    ^Yeah...........That was it -_-

Can we put supports in the red areas? (Specifically the area by the big drop tower)
Yes, but they must be attached to the roof directly when over the building

And in the little booth area? My coaster goes right over it. sorry for all the questions.
The booth area can be supported like normal, as long as the path is still accessible

Almost done with my entry -_-
If you are done, feel free to maybe add some details to your ride for better presentation
have a check through the supports and make sure flanges are correct and not colliding with stuff, its all about the little things!

Yup that's what I'm working on.

    Three (more) questions:
    1) Are we allowed to put trees and stuff like that outside the template?
    2) Can we custom make scenery for the ride? i.e. a station?
    3) Where are the flat rides from? I see the ones from NL2 advanced but I can only find some on the web page. Then others I've never seen before.
    1) Yes, Go ahead! it wont add to your score, but if you want to release the park once the contest is over you can do what you like for it!

    2) Yes, although it wont add a massive bonus to the score in the end so that people who cant 3d have a more fair chance of winning against someone who can model

    3) the skyfly is from bestdani, the others that are not nl2 advance are from here:

Regarding having rides that are not on the nl2advance site, i had a beta of the superloop, and was told i can use it like normal

Back with one final question. Are these supports ok for the building?
Only just, but it will pass.

Since you are so close to finishing im just gonna say you can submit the entrys to me from today by e-mailing a download link to me at with the subject as "SS2 [Username]:[Coaster Name]"
10 Days remaining, hope you guys have some good entrys coming along!

Can we add in game fences around the lower parts of our coaster?
    Sure, why not!
