I have made a huge mistake at the last drop. The drop from yesterday was 67 degrees steep but the real drop is 53 degrees steep. Today i fixed that.
After that i checked with some prototypes if everything fits. These Parts of the track are not the final ones. They only help me to check the proportions.
I assume you have plans to make all the scenery in the long run? This might be my favorite log flume in existence. It would be so cool to see it recreated in NL2.
How do you create the layout to have that many vertices? (very first pic of the topic)
Anyway, that's a difficult task to recreate this compact and highly themed log flume, but as always, you seem to know what you're doing! So keep it up and thanks for sharing the progress over here. ;)
At the last days i fixed some problems and i did add all of the brakes. Futhermore the last Splashzone is four meters longer and the second switch moves one meter fewer.
Chiapas has two types of frictionwhels. Yesterday i modelled one type and today the other one and i did put them to thier places. Also the transfertracks did get more Details.
Today i found a big mistake at the layout of chiapas. There is a point at the layout where the hight differs one meter to the real. first of all i will stop working on chiapas because i have to think about it how i can solve the problem. maybe i have to start from the beginning.
I used height disclosures and a Top-Down-View from Google Earth. Also I used many construction pictures and own made Pictures (and a lot of experience) :D
Between the two Rails should be 3 meters difference. The problem is that the ways through the area should fit into it. As I said I have to think about that problem.
Especially for Chiapas, 1m of height difference is a lot. It's not only for high accuracy, because it's always a big difference if you have 2m for a boat to pass underneath the track or 3m. Maybe you can adjust the height of some of the other tracksections, because otherwise it would mess up the whole model, I think.
In the last two weeks I found a little bit time to correct the wrong high between the two sections. Furthermore I revised the rest of the Layout and now I'm happy with it. The next issue will be theming and i will start with it when I find time for it.
