And to finish, a nice picture (to me not good to use as a wallpaper because too complex) :

I have a set of about 50 or so photos that I've either taken or mined off Flickr and other various websites (some of you might actually see some of your work, albeit cropped to fit and possibly color-adjusted) set up as a theme, so my desktop changes every 15 minutes or so. Sample of 5 (can you tell I don't like cluttered desktops?):

Oh, I'm pretty bad at it considering I got it not to long ago, so I really just make bad little looping music tracks. lol
I prefer to actually play my real instruments. lol I can play the guitar, piano, drums, and various other instruments. (I've taken music classes since I was 6) :D

After I had worked on a Manta signature for someone on CoasterForum, I was motivated to switch around my Omnimo desktop. Now it's gorgeous!

    Desktop_Manta
I gave it a Manta theme. Whenever the mouse hovers over one of the modules, it turns the lighter blue (shown here with the "Processor" module...just without the mouse added) that resembles Manta's supports. The boxes are the color of Manta's track. The blog and apps are easier to see in full screen view, unlike this photo where it looks like it's hard to read the text. I tried different ways of putting a background on those parts so it was easier to read, but they all turned out to be very ugly. I also added a drop shadow under each module in GIMP by using a captured layer as a stencil and deleting it afterward.

    FF_Manta
Even Firefox was ready for the change! I also made my window colors a deep blue, which is like Manta's colors.

Now every time I get on my computer, I feel like I'm in Florida. :) I like it!

iRacing.com Its expensive but oh my, it makes all other sims feel like toys. Forza, GT, etc. Pale in comparison.

If it tops Forza, it has me interested. Seriously, I watched a video about Forza's physics (tires specifically), and the tires in Forza shape-shift (you can actually see it happening if you watch a replay next to the rear of the tire), adjust traction in multiple areas based on G's in all directions, temperature, and road texture, and of course simulate the effect when front caster angles, toe angles, etc come into play. Then there's all the wheelspin physics that just left my mind. And this was just tires (not suspension, engine, aero, etc).

I was amazed by the physics (which all need to be experienced "assists-off") and how they stacked to GT's lesser physics (GT has a more predictable physics engine that's based on smooth sliding). If this game beats Forza, well, wow.

If only iRacing was on consoles though! That'd be a much cheaper way to play it because you don't have to have a computer from an alien planet.

Theyre developing a new tire model for the sim. Right now its still incredibly realistic but REAL racers use iRacing to train on tracks they are new too or need to take some of their practicing down at the actual track. Its SANCTIONED by NASCAR, Indy Car, F1 and Grand Am racing. They develop the tracks with a proprietary technology that scans the tracks to an accuracy of something like 1cm. So every little bump is modeled.

Then, the way they develop the cars is insane. Either the company gives them ALL data on the car (weights for every single piece as well as dimensions) or they get the car, take it APART completely, weigh and 3d scan each piece. That way when its all put together it reacts and moves like the real thing.

Im a long Forza racer. Since day 1. Forza3's physics are impressive. The tire modeling is fantastic, to a point. Its not entirely a sim, its still just a racer. This is a dedicated simulator.

When REAL race car drivers have testimonies about how it cuts their practice times down and is literally that accurate, that tells you something. I had to buy a steeringwheel for my PC...I wish I had one for the Xbox too because I know after this Forza would be a BREEZE.

OK, My computer has 4 accounts, and when you install something it appears on all of them. The icons on the right are ones I use, the left are ones I don't use.

And I have no idea why there are two Pinnicle shortcuts. :)

I must say it is pretty impressive. I've played a few races on my mates PC and might be getting it. I also agree with it being better than GT. It's got the tracks down to an art form.

Wow, impressive indeed! I think I'll just be sticking to Forza 3 though. :) Or Forza 4 (apparently it's coming out in '11)...
